Here’s what some Chicagoans have to say:

Create a restorative, safe environment that addresses students’ social-emotional needs so that real learning can ensue.

Coordinate between two city agencies (CPS & Park district) and community-based organizations to maximize the use of school buildings to serve as hubs of their communities.

Provide more equitable funding to all school districts and develop a robust plan to address their needs that includes partnerships with CBOs and other community members.

Integrate field experiences for students into the school day.

Provide and fund frequent teacher collaboration time regularly throughout the school year.

Reformat the industrial school model. Why does the day need to start at 8am and end @ 5pm? Keep the school open 23 hours.
